My soaps use rich, natural ingredients.
I make my soap through a process called “saponification”, where sodium hydroxide is mixed with fats and oils.  I use pure, therapeutic essential oils obtained from plants, which carry the scent and the beneficial properties of the plants.  The soaps take 6 weeks to “cure”… and are extremely mild and gentle for your skin.   They will last significantly longer than the popular bars you get from the store, because they are not fluffed up with air.  They are heavy, and thick.

This first soap which I am offering as a free gift for the month of July is one I created especially for the face, although it could be used for bathing as well.  It contains lavender, and French green clay, which helps to cleanse the skin of excess oils and helps to absorb impurities.  If you have exceptionally dry skin, you may find that this particular soap is too drying for you… I made this one to go along with my oil for skin problems “Complexion Perfection”.  If you have skin that is oily, or breaks out with blackheads or pimples, this soap is for you.  If your skin doesn’t break out, you can use it anyway… it’s  just extremely cleansing and detoxifying.

Ingredients:
Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Shea Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, French Green Clay, Lavender, Niaouli

Soap has been used for thousands of years.  A replacement was sought for soap during World War I, when there was a shortage of fats and oils.  This led to the invention of synthetic detergents, which is what you will find in stores today.   What I am referring to as a “detergent” is a synthetically derived cleansing product.  They strip your skin of it’s natural oils.

Natural soap is made from natural ingredients… My soap is real… not a synthetic version of the real thing.  The reason most of what you will find today in the form of soap is synthetic detergent material, is because soap manufacturers find that they are more stable in more situations, therefore they are less expensive in the long run.

“As we become more and more comfortable with synthetics in all areas of our lives, we run the risk of losing natural defenses and continually needing synthetic intervention.  Skin care is but one facet of this phenomenon.  Our skin is remarkably capable of functioning on its own to protect us, but as we use more and more harsh, foreign substances, we alter the body’s chemical makeup and leave our skin without its natural defenses.  We risk becoming dependent on stronger and stronger synthetics to take the place of the body’s natural systems.  We must each, as individuals, decide which route to go… the way of nature, or the way of the lab.”  (Susan Cavitch:  The Natural Soap Book)
